Two trainees retained at Shulmans
Our Commercial team at Shulmans continues to go from strength to strength with the retention of two newly-qualified solicitors who recently completed training contracts with us.
Eleanor Russell-Smith and Joe Gosling will strengthen the firm’s Commercial team, which now boasts five lawyers with specialist experience in IT and technology development projects, outsourcing arrangements, data protection and privacy issues, supply chain contracts and processes, and contract automation.
Russell-Smith specialises in non-contentious commercial, IT and technology, data protection and intellectual property matters, and has international legal experience in a Spanish private client legal practice. She achieved a graduate diploma in law from the University of Law in Leeds and completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at distinction level.
Having moved to South Africa in 2007, Gosling studied his law degree through The Open University, passing with first-class honours, and returned to the UK in 2015 to undertake the LPC at the University of Law in Leeds. Gosling completed the LPC at distinction level and achieved the highest combined mark amongst students in the business and commercial law modules, securing him the university’s corporate and commercial law prize. He now specialises in non-contentious commercial, IT and technology, data protection and intellectual property matters.
Emma Roe, Partner and Head of Commercial at Shulmans said: “Investing in colleagues is one of the firm's core values and we place a huge importance on nurturing talent. We are delighted that Joe and Eleanor will remain with the firm and continue to contribute to the success of the Commercial team.“ With the roll-out of GDPR, the last 12 months has seen an exceptional number of high-profile data breaches and as we get closer to Brexit, we are focused on ensuring our clients are ready for every eventuality.”
