Richard Robinson appointed Chair of the BCO Next Gen Committee for the North
Shulmans Partner Richard Robinson has been named the new Chairman of the British Council for Offices’ (BCO) Northern Next Gen Committee.
The British Council for Offices' (BCO) is a national organisation with a mission to research, develop and communicate best practice in all aspects of the office sector. It delivers this by providing a forum for the discussion and debate of relevant issues.
BCO members are all organisations involved in creating, acquiring or occupying office space, whether architects, lawyers, surveyors, financial institutions or public agencies.
BCO NextGen provides an invaluable opportunity for young professionals in the commercial property sector to share ideas, develop knowledge and build a network of contacts with other members from across the country.
As Chair of the Northern NextGen Committee, Richard is responsible for bringing together key stakeholders in the sector to promote major developments in the North and to develop the collective understanding of regional members, enabling them to work together to understand the future of workplaces and to create more effective office space.
His appointment places Shulmans at the centre of developments in the sector and ideally placed to help shape conversations going forward. It further supports the firm’s work with organisations including Revo, the BPF, the Chamber of Commerce, ISCS and MIPIM, ensuring we are on top of new developments, trends and opportunities.
During his time as Vice Chair of the Committee, Richard has led visits to major northern developments such as Kirkstall Forge (with developer CEG) and Platform (part of the Bruntwood portfolio). As Chair of the Committee, he will continue to promote the best that the North has to offer.
The next planned event on 24 October, is in conjunction with Women in Property, and will be looking at the Nexus Building – University of Leeds innovation centre including laboratory, theatre and office space. More details on the event can be found here.
