Maltese lawyers attend Shulmans as part of UK visit

On 24th July, a delegation from Maltese legal and accountancy firm CSB Group attended Shulmans’ offices as part of a UK visit aiming to increase cooperation and develop relationships between the firms on an international level. Both Shulmans and CSB are members of Interlegal, a global network of independent commercial law firms representing 45 countries.

Over the course of their visit, CSB Legal’s Managing Partner, Dr Davinia Cutajar and Dr Ursula Farrugia, Head of Capital Markets, met with contacts in Leeds and London, beginning with the Shulmans team at their Leeds city centre office. One of the delegation’s key objectives was to explore ways, post Brexit, that UK companies can use Malta as a route to preserving EU licences and qualifications.

Shulmans Head of International services, Jim Wright, who coordinated the visit, commented: “We were delighted to welcome the CSB team to Shulmans. Visits such as this serve an important purpose, to strengthen connections between our colleagues and firms overseas to the benefit of our clients.”

As members of Interlegal, both CSB and Shulmans contributed to the book “Legal and tax issues around the world – starting and growing a business”, which was recently released in collaboration with its sister organisation, EuraAudit, an international network of independent accountants.

Jim said: “As one of the book’s editors, it was a pleasure to connect with fellow contributors and hear their perspective on UK and international practices first-hand.”
