Business Development Executive

Our expanding Business Development (BD) team plays a key role within the firm, helping us to ensure we provide an excellent service to our clients.

They are responsible for providing a wide-range of support to our partners, lawyers, managers and colleagues, from strategic projects such as targeting core commercial work and key account marketing, through to developing and running our marketing programme which includes PR, advertising, sponsorship, events, directories, awards, website, social media, collateral and newsletters.

We now have an excellent opportunity for someone to join the firm, to progress their career in a role which will assist both the Business Development Manager and the Head of Business Development.

You will have an extensive range of duties, that will allow you to utilise the skills and experiences you have already gained within a marketing/BD environment.

These will range from supporting the delivery of our marketing programme (including managing and running a busy schedule of events, seminars, sponsorship and PR activities), writing content for various sources such as our website, social media, internal communications as well as for pitches and tenders, acting as a brand ‘guardian’, maintaining and developing the firm’s website, ensuring all marketing materials are consistent, and producing appropriate management information for example regarding client satisfaction, referrals, recognition, CRM and Key Account Management. 

To take this next step in your BD career, you will need first class organisational skills which can demonstrate your ability to juggle a busy workload, frequently prioritising and re-prioritising your objectives. You will also have experience of using a project management approach to tasks and using your initiative to drive projects forward and recommending best practice.

You will need proven experience (likely to be in the region of two years’) of working within a business development/marketing role.  Ideally this will have been gained within a law firm or within the professional services sector.

A recognised marketing qualification or similar would be an advantage.

First class communication skills are essential and you will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be adept at building and maintaining relationships with colleagues at all levels.

You should have a flair for designing and presenting high quality documents, content and presentations for website and marketing purposes, as well as excellent proof-reading skills.

You will also have an excellent range of proven IT skills, in particular of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
