Shulmans was an early achiever of the Investors in People accreditation, as well as the first Leeds-based practice to be awarded the legal quality standard, Lexcel.

The key to success is our team. We ensure that our recruitment processes are thorough and creative at all levels and that, once a lawyer or a member of the support team has joined us, these people are fully supported. This is through training and development programmes as well as access to information that ensures that all of our people are motivated and enabled to deliver the best level of service to our clients.

This approach is complemented by our use of the best technology and systems which support our people and our clients.

All of this is underlined by the fact that we win awards for our services. Most recently:

  • Mark Lumley (a partner and member of our commercial team) won 'Data Protection Lawyer of the Year (UK)' at the Finance Monthly FinTech Awards 2017;
  • We achieved a double win at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2016: 'Commercial Property' award and 'Trainee Solicitor of the Year' award (Ryan Adams);
  • We also won ‘Property Law Firm of the Year’ at the Yorkshire Property Industry Awards 2016;
  • We were also shortlisted at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2016 (for our ‘Excellence in International Legal Services’) and the Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards 2016 (in the ‘Data Protection Law Firm of the Year (UK wide)’ category).
