“I enjoy being part of a large Commercial team”

When I first learnt about the opportunity at Shulmans, I had never dealt with the firm before and knew of them only by reputation. I remember that two Partners were involved in the interview process.  It certainly said a lot about the importance the firm placed on recruitment. I had the opportunity to meet with several more Partners and, my overriding impression was that the firm was very focused on what it did best and had a clear plan as to where it was going. 

Since joining I have been impressed with the calibre of clients and I am working for both small and large businesses across a wide range of sectors.   The opportunity to develop a niche in IT/IP work has also materialised.   Most importantly, I’m pleased to be part of a strong Commercial and Corporate Finance team and I reckon we could give any law firm in Leeds a run for their money in terms of expertise and the value we offer to clients. 

I have a young family and very much enjoy my time with them. Many firms say the right things about respecting your life outside work, but often fall down when putting it into practice.This has not been the case at Shulmans and I have been able to strike a good balance between work and home life.
