Shulmans celebrates triple success

Shulmans Solicitors is celebrating success as Yorkshire’s top law firm.  It was awarded the Law Firm of the Year Award 2007 for firms with 1-30 partners at the Yorkshire Lawyer awards.

The accolade comes just after the firm was shortlisted as a finalist in awards to find Yorkshire’s best company to work for and included for the first time in The Lawyer magazine's Top 200 law firms in the country.  

The firm, which was founded by Jeremy Shulman in August 1981, beat off stiff competition from legal practices throughout the Yorkshire region for the Yorkshire Lawyer Firm of the Year award. Judges were impressed by Shulmans’ reputation for delivering a quality, highly business-focused service to clients who range from small business to plcs. 

The firm scored highly across all judging criteria to win the prestigious annual award. Shulmans has grown to be one of the leading players on the Leeds commercial law scene with 12 partners and employing 140 people, and is nationally recognised for its expertise in a number of fields. 

Legal 500 cites Shulmans as one of the UK’s top residential property law practices.  The firm acts for most of the UK’s top housebuilders including Persimmon, Crosby, Barratt, David Wilson and Bellway. Constantly innovating, Shulmans was one of the first law firms based in Leeds to gain the Investors in People accreditation and also the first firm in the city to achieve the Law Society's Lexcel accreditation for its practice management standards.
