Leeds Law Society elects Shulmans partner as new president
Leading property lawyer David Barraclough, pictured left, a partner at Shulmans solicitors, is the new president of Leeds Law Society.
He took over the presidency from Stuart Turnock at the society’s Annual General Meeting last night (15 May). Deborah Green, chief executive of Marketing Leeds, was elected vice president.
Mr Barraclough, a member of Shulmans’ real estate team, is well known and respected in both legal circles and the commercial property world.
He said: "I am honoured to have been elected President of the Leeds Law Society. The legal profession is changing fast and we are facing greater challenges. However, here in Leeds the legal profession is stronger than ever and we are now second only to London in respect of the number of lawyers and fees generated"
David is the third partner at Shulmans to be elected President of the Leeds Law Society since 2001. Leeds Law Society, founded in 1805, is one of the UK’s oldest law societies.
