Leading property lawyer joins Shulmans solicitors

David Barraclough, an acknowledged expert in property management, has joined Shulmans solicitors as a partner in their real estate team. His appointment to one of Yorkshire’s leading property law teams is part of its rapid growth strategy, which includes recruiting a number of high profile specialists.

David, pictured left, will continue to act for Town Centre Securities PLC on their property management work including the Merrion Centre.

Simon Jackson, head of commercial property at Shulmans, said: “David’s particular expertise is in property investment, development and management. His skills acting for landlords of shopping centres and developers with retail elements are much sought after.”

David will become President of Leeds Law Society in May this year, the third Shulmans’ partner to take on this role following Jeremy Shulman and Rosemary Edwards.

Shulmans has an established and respected reputation in commercial property, acting for St James Securities, Crosby Lend Lease, Caddick, Evans of Leeds Group and MMC Estates. Its residential development team acts for most of the UK’s top housebuilders including Barratt, Persimmon, Bellway and David Wilson Homes.

David Barraclough has held a number of key positions in the Leeds legal property market and is a well known figure in commercial property circles.
