Shulmans wins Legal Technology Award
Shulmans achieved success at the Legal Technolgy Awards 2009 in being named as winners of the "Client (commoditised) facing legal service of the year" award. This was in the face of serious competition from some much bigger law firms.
The award was for the firm's Step Automated Manager software (normally referred to as “SAM”) which was been developed over the last two years by Shulmans' IT team and is used by the firm in providing bulk legal services, including the QCAS bulk conveyancing service.
Following a written submission, Victoria Marshall, Head of QCAS, was required to make a Dragons' Den style presentation followed by questioning from senior IT people within the legal industry. Clearly, she did an excellent job.
Victoria comments "This is a national award and shows our clients and others that we are not just a local or regional operation but able to compete against larger national firms. I am delighted with this award as it helps to differentiate us from our competitors, particularly in this current difficult climate.
I am particularly grateful to our IT Manager, Marlowe Morgan, and his team for their effort and ingenuity in developing this software. Marlowe and I sat down over two years ago to discuss what we needed to make our conveyancing processes more streamlined and efficient. Marlowe listened and his team delivered a system above and beyond what was asked of them."
