The annual review of maternity, paternity, sickness and other pay rates mean the amounts payable will increase from April 2012.

The weekly rate for statutory maternity pay, paternity and additional paternity pay, adoption pay and maternity allowance increases from £128.73 to £135.45.

The rate for statutory sick pay increases from £81.60 to £85.85.

Recommendation

Businesses should review their procedures and precedents to take account of the new rates.
